What will motivate you to become the owner of an electric car?

Is it a government grant? A range of over 200 miles? Or maybe the performance in a straight line? (For info, I tried, I played, I lost. Yes, yes during this test). I do not recommend this option) Or, how about a car that combines all the above with looks from S.U.V. muscular, as does the Audi e-tron?

This new model under the name e-tron is entirely electric is a true technological jewel and has already announced that the great rivald of the Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X.

Under the floor is a 95 kWh battery, which gives the E-tron a range of 248 miles during the official WLTP test cycle. The vehicle loads from 0 to 80% in approximately 8.5 hours with an 11 kW household wall box.

For fast charging at petrol stations via the Ionity network. These are very high power terminals capable of delivering 350 kW at a voltage ranging from 200 V to 920 V DC. In other words, 6 minutes are enough to charge a battery of 100 kWh at 45% and 15 minutes to make a “full” at 80%.

Ionity’s the result of a consortium consisting mainly of German manufacturers (including Audi, Porsche, BMW, Ford and Daimler), it now operates in nearly 200 stations across Europe. Ionity plans to reach its target of 400 stations by 2020. They are manufactured by the Australian Tritium, one of the suppliers of Ionity with the Swiss-Swedish manufacturer ABB. The design is entirely new: it incorporates a “halo” of light dedicated to the lighting of the site, which can also change color to inform on the status of the terminal and the battery level.

All e-tron series are equipped with air suspension and adaptive dampers to make the vehicle more comfortable than its competitors. And this is a first, buyers can improve the aerodynamics by opting for the removal of mirrors from the e-tron and their replacement by cameras feeding small screens located inside.

“To slip on the road and gain speed,” the model includes special alloy wheels and a smooth underside that also protects the battery from impact.Meanwhile, the way you can raise the car by 50mm for extra ground clearance and towing up to 1,800kg suggests that it’s not just a gadget.
