The current situation related to Covid-19 makes the situation in the tourism/hotel sector very difficult. For the managers of establishments, they have to combine health safety and service. For the clients, they face many constraints and their stay often turns into an obstacle course.

When I arrived in Barcelona, I could see more than anywhere else the damage that the pandemic could generate between the measures imposed on the authorities and the many restaurants and bars still closed, it’s catastrophic. I had a hard time finding a hotel that met my criteria because the choice of establishments is now limited and many are still closed.

Fortunately, there are solutions to the traditional hotel business. When I looked around, I found a real nugget in the heart of Barcelona. It’s the Casa Consell run by Francisco and his family.

Here you are local

That’s exactly what I needed. To take a break for a few days in a city that I particularly like. As I explained above, the hotel offer was limited and renting a flat on airbnb didn’t motivate me any more than that, so Casa Consell arrived at just the right time. Several rasions to it, the surface area already, I hallucinated about the size of the flat. It is possible to accommodate more than 8 people in the flat I was in. Then the flowered terrace, when I arrived the owner was watering the plants. It is a luxury nowadays. I liked his images mixing the industrial building and the palm tree coming to rest on the terrace. Finally, the light coming into the living room is omnipresent all day long. This means that when you open the French windows wide, you are at home and outside at the same time.

Located 1 minute walk from Passeig de Gràcia and Casa Batlló. This flat rental concept combining the experiences of a hotel and a flat to keep only the advantages outside the Airbnb network is gaining ground. Francisco thought of Casa Consell as a typical design experience à la Barcelonaise, where ease and comfort are the watchwords. Casa Consell offers elegant, bright and relatively spacious flats. Some have a terrace, while others have a balcony.

Its two days allowed me to prepare my next trips in the best possible conditions. To make myself dishes that I appreciate because with the fully equipped kitchen, it would be a shame to do so in private.

Definitely, Casa Consell is aimed at all travellers who want peace and quiet, large families with children, as well as business travellers looking for space and the possibility of hosting meetings.
