At TypeO Loft, a secluded one-room bed and breakfast in the southern Swedish region of Skåne, Magnus Wittbjer and Micha van Dinther, founders of design and content agency TypeO, have set out to explore the needs and wants of travellers in an emerging new landscape of hospitality and travel.
Meeting an increasing demand to practice isolation, the space, housed in a separate part of the traditional 1842 stone farmstead where the pair live and work, is designed for guests to slow down, be in the moment and engage with themselves and their surroundings on a deeper level.
Inside the triangular floor-to-ceiling glass facade, which offers uninterrupted views of the rolling landscape, the 50 sq m space opens with a lounge area and custom-built Nordiska Kök kitchen, followed by a cosy bedroom nook and an ensuite bathroom. Here, R&R is taken seriously, with a king-size Dux bed with organic bed linen by Read The Label, botanical essences by Aoiro, a sound system by Transparent Sound and a selection of magazines and books to engage the senses and help guests disconnect from everyday life. In the kitchen, a self service breakfast awaits in the morning, and readymade meal kits with ingredients from local purveyors can be ordered in advance.
TypeO Loft, which also doubles as a retail concept, is characterised by earthy tones and natural materials. All furniture pieces and interior items, from the vintage Togo sofa from Ligne Roset to the glassware by Studio Vit, are available for purchase at check-out.
