In celebration of the Year of the Dragon, IWC has devoted a special Portugieser Chronograph to honor the mythical zodiac creature.
This exclusive timepiece unveils a captivating dial encased within a 41mm stainless steel watch frame. The dial is adorned in a lustrous burgundy hue, symbolizing longevity and auspiciousness, paying homage to the cultural festival’s significant nature. Gold-plated hands, hour markers, and numerals instantly illuminate the dial with opulence and allure.
The Portugieser Chronograph Year of the Dragon is paired with a refined black calfskin strap suitable for daily wear, as well as a textured burgundy-hued rubber strap that exudes a tonal aesthetic.
Upon closer inspection, this offering presents a regal spectacle in the form of an intricately hand-engraved dragon design, prominently showcased through the open caseback.
The dragon is intricately etched on a gold-plated rotor of the 69355 movement—an in-house and automatic caliber boasting a frequency of 28,800 vph, complemented by a 46-hour power reserve.
Limited to a mere 1,000 examples, this timepiece is priced at €7,717 and is currently available for inquiry via IWC’s official website.
